For Lancôme’s Art of Absolue 2025 project, Somexing Artistic commissioned Japanese artist Daigo Daikoku to create The Eternal Rose. This large-scale textile installation celebrates cyclical beauty and renewal. Through movement, color, and sound, the artwork expresses the brand’s philosophy of care and regeneration.
In line with this vision, the project reflects Somexing Artistic’s mission to curate immersive experiences where craftsmanship, emotion, and innovation converge in poetic harmony.
Entitled “The Eternal Rose”, Daigo Daikoku’s installation is a large-scale immersive textile artwork composed of hand-dyed silk strips suspended from a rotating structure. Rendered in the hues of the four seasons, these silk layers unfold and sway in rhythmic harmony, mirroring the natural cycle of bloom, rest, and renewal.
Visitors are invited to walk through the softly moving silk strips, following a sensorial path of light, color, sound, and motion. Gradually, it leads them toward the heart of the installation where the perpetual rose slowly reveals itself at the center. This central form, illuminated becomes a symbol of timeless beauty and transformation, surrounded by a living environment that breathes and shifts with each movement.
Through Somexing Artistic’s curatorial mediation, “The Eternal Rose” unites Japanese design sensibility with contemporary artistic expression. This artwork transforms craftsmanship and material poetry into an immersive encounter of serenity, renewal, and wonder.
