To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Larsen Cognac collaborated with British-Chinese artist Chuan Jia on a collectible Drakkar bottle. The design features abstract clouds, swimmers, sea creatures, and golden detailing, symbolizing harmony between sea and sky.
Jia reinterpreted Larsen’s Drakkar with silkscreen and hand-drawing techniques, merging fantasy and aquatic worlds with luxury craftsmanship.
Inspired by sea, sky, and natural harmony, Jia created abstract motifs reflecting Larsen’s pioneering spirit and anniversary celebration.
The collaboration launched with a limited edition of 300 porcelain Drakkar bottles. A unique collector’s piece was auctioned in China, creating a highlight moment for the brand. The activation was further amplified with digital campaign and press coverage across key markets.
Chuan Jia, also known as Trajan Jia, is a Chinese digital illustrator. He has developed a highly personal multicultural art style. It is infused with Chinese traditional painting as well as Western and Eastern literature and culture. Growing up in a Chinese factory compound environment, the contrast between vast architectural structures and small, exquisite personal living spaces became a key inspiration for his art. Chuan’s work combines techniques such as silkscreen printing and hand drawing, thoughtfully recording the details of changing times and urban communities. It is aligned with cultural and creative brand collaborations.
He graduated from China Academy of Art BA course in 2011 and soon going to UAL’s Chelsea college of art and design to continue his MA course. His art creating start from his MA proposal subject about the collective memory of the Chinese urban community, and he did a series of illustration and picture book design based on this study.
To be separate from usually single and real-life narrative way, his work shows randomly and magic traces of people’s fates under the breaking down by the architecture framework. The whole society just like a quantum, it has a functional and stable structure for macroeconomics; while it also has an unpredictable people’s relationship by the microscopic view.
