Curated and produced by Somexing Artistic, the second edition of Lancôme “The Art of Absolue” Exhibition was showcased in Shanghai. For this occasion, ten internationally renowned artists from France and China reinterpreted Lancôme’s iconic rose through large-scale artworks and immersive installations.
To reflect this creative diversity, the exhibition brought together sculpture, photography, digital art, upcycling, and science-based creations, illustrating. Through these different approaches, it highlighted an ongoing the dialogue between contemporary art and Lancôme’s heritage of beauty and innovation.
Lucille Enel and Isabelle Gavalda led the curatorial direction of “The Art of Absolue” exhibition. With this framework, they selected ten artists to interpret the iconic rose of Lancôme brand under four themes: Perpetual Rose, Perpetual Youth, Perpetual Sense, Perpetual Life.
In each space, visitors experienced not only an immersive journey but also a close-up perception and exploration of the artist’s creation of time and eternity.
Beyond the scenography, the exhibition pushed boundaries and placed the iconic Lancôme Rose at the centre. The 10 internationally renowned artists, (Wang Kaifang, Jiang Zhi, Cai Zhisong, Tian Xiaolei, Luo Daishi, Cyril Lancelin, Emmanuelle Moureaux, Pierre Brault, William Amor, Danni Zheng) drew inspiration from Lancôme Absolue’s faithful pursuit of time and eternity. They created majestic artworks that go beyond the limits of imagination and capture the brilliance of time.
Somexing Artistic shaped the exhibition’s artistic concept: selecting artist profiles, overseeing commissions, and ensuring each artwork was installed on site in Shanghai.
