For Lancôme’s Art of Absolue 2025 project, Somexing Artistic commissioned Polish artist Karolina Halatek to create “Ascent”. This immersive installation combines light and mist to evoke transcendence and reflection. Such as, the project embodies Lancôme’s philosophy of beauty as illumination and harmony.
Halatek’s practice, rooted in light and perception, transforms physical space into an experience of serenity and awakening. In this context, and under Somexing Artistic’s guidance, “Ascent” becomes an immersive sanctuary of light, where emotion and architecture merge in contemplative balance.

Moreover, Karolina Halatek’s installation explores eternity and perception through the interplay of light, mist, and sound. Composed as a luminous spiral with mirrored surfaces at its top and base, the work envelops visitors in an atmosphere where space seems infinite and the boundaries between body and light dissolve.
Furthermore, constructed with advanced lighting systems and precise spatial design, the installation uses the soft diffusion of light and density of mist to create a meditative, sensory experience. In addition, each element — from the tonal progression of illumination to the subtle layering of sound — is meticulously orchestrated to guide viewers toward serenity and contemplation.
Through Somexing Artistic’s curatorial mediation, “Ascent” becomes a contemporary sanctuary of light, merging art, technology, and emotion. The work extends Lancôme’s philosophy of beauty as illumination, inviting visitors to ascend through an experience of resilience, renewal, and transcendence.
