Theater of Metamorphosis by Artist William Amor
For Lancôme’s Art of Absolue 2023 exhibition, Somexing Artistic commissioned French artist William Amor to create Theater of Metamorphosis — a poetic installation celebrating beauty, sustainability, and transformation. Amor, known for his mastery of upcycling, reimagines waste materials into intricate floral creations that merge craftsmanship and emotion.
Under Somexing Artistic’s guidance, the commission translates Lancôme’s commitment to sustainable beauty into an artwork that turns discarded materials into a living expression of renewal and creativity.
Theater of Metamorphosis
Entitled Theater of Metamorphosis, William Amor’s installation transforms upcycled materials into a poetic landscape that celebrates craftsmanship, beauty, and sustainability. At its heart rises a monumental bouquet of hundreds of roses, each handcrafted from recycled plastic bottles, bags, and Lancôme packaging, their delicate petals carrying the traces of a former life. The vase itself is formed from upcycled plastic refill cups from Lancôme cream jars, linking material transformation to the brand’s commitment to renewal.
Around this central sculpture, a field of self-standing tulip mounted on brass rods extends outward, while lines of suspended petals cascade from above. Enclosed by mirrored walls, the installation multiplies infinitely, creating an immersive, dreamlike garden where waste is reborn as timeless beauty.
Through Somexing Artistic’s curatorial guidance, Theater of Metamorphosis becomes a manifesto for sustainable artistry, turning discarded materials into a living expression of care, creativity, and poetic resilience.

William Amor
William Amor is an upcycling artist who lives and works in Paris. His artistic work takes birth in the will to take the current upcycling trend further and to place art in the service of Ecology. In his support for environmentalism, William Amor’s artworks become poetic messengers and provokers of emotions with the underlying theme of beauty and Sustainability.
He has cooperated with many brands and enterprises, including Chanel, Guerlain, Centre Beaugrenelle, Galeries Lafayette, etc.
